Description
Lavender Lemonade is a beautifully refreshing floral twist on the classic summer drink. This calming, subtly sweet beverage combines dried culinary lavender and fresh lemon juice for a naturally fragrant and elegant experience perfect for spring and summer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender buds
- 1 cup hot water (for steeping)
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3–4 medium lemons)
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
- 2 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, then pour over dried lavender buds in a heat-safe container. Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes depending on desired strength. Strain and discard the buds.
- In a pitcher, combine the lavender infusion, lemon juice, and honey or maple syrup. Stir until sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Add the cold water and stir again to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
- Chill for at least 1 hour. When ready to serve, pour over ice and garnish with lemon slices and lavender sprigs.
Notes
For stronger lavender flavor, steep longer or increase lavender slightly, but don’t overdo it to avoid bitterness. Make lavender simple syrup in advance by simmering lavender with equal parts sugar and water. For a fizzy twist, replace half the cold water with sparkling water just before serving.
